March 26, 2014
8:00 am - 4:30 pm
School of Education
College of William & Mary
301 Monticello Avenue
The TEI workshop is designed to
help participants develop competencies that will
enable them to plan systemically for the
selection, use, and evaluation of technology tools and
resources in a pedagogically appropriate
manner. This workshop is different from other faculty
professional development workshops on technology. While others tend to
focus on simply learning the technology tools, leaving it up to
the participants to make the connection to pedagogy and content
knowledge, this workshop is based on Technology, Pedagogy and Content
Knowledge, or TPACK, which provides for an integrated approach
to combining technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge. While the
workshop does contain Microsoft technology, its focus is not techno-centric. Rather, through
learning, it allows you to actively experience a
range of technology tools and resources and connect these
tools to research-based approaches to their use in teaching.
Participants who complete this workshop will obtain status
as Microsoft Faculty Fellows and will receive a
certificate from Microsoft and the Society of Information
Technology and Teacher Education (SITE). In
addition, they will receive a digital badge and an image that can be included in an email signature.
Registration fee is
$75.00 and includes participation in the full-day workshop, a parking pass, a light breakfast,
a lunch buffet, and all workshop materials.
Please register early.
No registrations will be accepted after March 21st and no on-site registrations
